Dressing and care

The allure of nylon also comes with fragility, which means you need to handle your nylon stockings with care.

The most critical moments are always when putting them on and taking them off.
Even a tiny rough spot on your nails or hands can damage them or cause a ladder (run). You can prevent this by wearing thin gloves during these moments.

With proper care, real nylon stockings can last a long time.

After wearing them for a day, it is best to wash them in lukewarm water using a non-synthetic detergent. Rinse the stockings thoroughly to ensure all soap residue is completely removed.
Absolutely do not wring out your stockings; instead, lay them flat to dry on a towel, for example.

Putting on and fastening your stockings requires a bit of practice.

First, roll up the stocking and hold it with your left and right thumbs on the inside.
Slip your foot into the stocking and slowly pull it up your leg. Make sure to keep it taut.
By sliding your middle finger along the seam as you pull it up, you can ensure the seam stays perfectly straight.
Once you reach the top, fasten the back suspender clip first, reaching both arms (one left, one right) around your leg. It might help to sit on the edge of your bed while doing this.
After that, you can fasten the remaining clips.
Never attach a clip to the hole at the back of the stocking (the keyhole); only fasten it to the double-layered material (the welt).
